て form う verbs

て form with う verbs isn’t as simple as る verbs, as there’s different ways to conjugate it depending on the verb ending. このクラスで, we will be looking at conjugating う verbs ending in う/つ/る.

  • Drop the う/つ/る

  • Add って

買うかう/to buy -> 買ってかって

持つもつ/to hold -> 持ってもって

To ask somebody to do something for you, you can use 'verb てform + ください'.

例えば:

歌ってくださいうたってくさい。

Please sing.

To express that an action is not allowed, we use て form + はいけません。

例えば:

1. ここで写真しゃしん を取ってはいけませんとってはいけません 。

You must not take pictures here.

2. 今日私はたくさん宿題しゅくだい があります。友人ゆうじん に会ってはいけません。あいます

Today, I have a lot of homework. I'm not allowed to meet my friend.

3. その帽子ぼうし は高いたかい です。かぶってはいけません。
